Job Details
The Vice President (VP) of Property Management is a critical leadership role responsible for driving strategies that maximize real estate investment returns.
With extensive responsibilities ranging from managing property operations to collaborating with key stakeholders, the VP plays an essential role in ensuring the success of the company’s real estate portfolio.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee the physical integrity, safety, compliance, and occupancy (both physical and economic) of both company-owned and third-party managed properties.
- Collaborate with leadership to shape and implement company vision and strategy related to property operations, team growth, and accountability.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of all property assets, including partner distributions, reserves, capital accounts, financing terms, and asset preservation strategies.
- Partner with Asset Management to analyze refinancing options, develop corrective action plans for underperforming properties, and create long-term financial strategies for capital planning.
- Review property budgets and capital plans, ensuring alignment with industry standards and special financing provisions.
- Coordinate physical rehabilitation projects in collaboration with the Development team.
- Provide analytical support and reporting to investors and lenders, working closely with Asset Management and the Equity team.
- Integrate new properties into Asset Management processes post-occupancy, monitor early financial performance, and coordinate necessary adjustments.
- Develop and update a three-year strategic plan, monitoring financial performance against projections.
- Lead the residential corporate budgeting process to optimize efficiency and revenue, ensuring compliance with investor, lender, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the overall profitability of the property portfolio, supporting Property Management in presenting budgets and strategic plans to senior leadership.
- Build and maintain strong organizational relationships across various departments, including Human Resources, Development, Equity, and Construction.
- Oversee risk management related to insurance, crisis preparedness, and compliance reporting.
Requirements :
- High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in asset or real estate management.
- Extensive experience managing both market-rate and affordable housing properties. (7,000 units+)
- Proven success in leading the management of a significant portfolio of multi-unit properties.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, with a focus on developing staff and building high-performing teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in time management.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a high level of integrity and passion for achieving ambitious goals.
