Job Description

Optimus is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Technical Training Specialist based in Pittsburgh, PA. This is a full-time, salaried position ($98,080 - $107,360) with benefits.

Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in heavy automotive parts and service training, training material development, and customer success.

This role requires 50-75% travel to gain an in-depth understanding of the practical application and long-term operation of the Vector System.

You will also work closely with Optimus installers and technicians to help build out our installation and service network.

Collaboration is key, as this position involves significant coordination with our engineering, field operations, and production teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to stay current with product updates and ensure training content accurately reflects the latest system changes and procedures.
• Work cross-functionally with application and development teams to manage training content and establish key success metrics.
• Organize and deliver group and individual training sessions in both classroom and customer onsite settings for Optimus customers and employees.
• Conduct hands-on demonstrations and troubleshooting exercises to enhance practical learning in real-world truck maintenance and installation scenarios.
• Design and maintain training environments, ensuring they are safe, well-organized, and conducive to effective learning.
• Develop and document training modules tailored to the needs of specific roles.
• Create high-quality, engaging technical content on a wide range of topics and applications related to biodiesel systems.
• Maintain training materials and records in both digital and physical formats, ensuring easy access and version control for future updates.
• Assist in certifying employees and customers in the proper maintenance and installation of Optimus products, including periodic assessments and re-certifications.
• Serve as the subject matter expert in the installation, assembly, and service of Optimus systems.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 4 years of practical experience in industrial technical maintenance or engineering applications.
• Experience integrating computer applications into teaching and training environments.
• Proven ability to apply innovative, flexible, and positive teaching methods tailored to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in using learning management systems (LMS) and other digital tools for training delivery and tracking progress.
• Strong knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heavy automotive equipment and processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical and technical issues related to truck systems and aftermarket technologies.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds as required for handling tools, equipment, and training materials.
• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification is a plus.
• CDL License is a plus.
