Position Information
The Department of Education in the School of Education, Social Sciences and The Arts, is seeking to fill one position in the Educational Leadership Program.
This is a full-time, tenure-track, twelve-month position that follows a hybrid workplace model.
The Educational Leadership Program is dedicated to producing ethical and humane leaders who are knowledgeable and sensitive to the diverse needs of those they serve, who will seek to provide an equity minded and quality education for all children, and who are instructional leaders able to build an effective team oriented approach to teaching and learning in order to maximize the academic achievement of all students. Responsibilities
- Teach doctoral level courses in the Education Leadership Doctoral Program (EDLD).
- Advise doctoral students.
- Chair and serve on dissertation committees.
- Mentor students in the EDLD program.
- Recruit students for the program, serve as a liaison between the program and schools.
- Continue production of scholarly work including publications, presentations and grants.
- Work in a team-oriented environment to review and revise the curriculum. The course
curriculum is taught using a cohort model and weekend schedule.
- Serve on department, school, graduate school and university committees, and be willing to assume leadership role.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Classification 25- Education, Training, and Library Occupations Required Qualifications
- Ed.D. or Ph.D. in education administration, education leadership or related field.
- Must be knowledgeable about education leadership standards and the accreditation or approval process.
- Must have a record of outstanding teaching and scholarship.
- Must be able to teach a standards-based program.
- Must have the ability to teach any of the following courses : Quantitative Research, School Finance, Research Instrument Design, Planning and program evaluation, Writing for Publication, Inclusionary Classroom Practices, School / Community Relations, Qualitative Research, Curriculum and Instructional Leadership, Advanced School Law, and School Plant Management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a public school administrator or equivalent.
- Applicants who have worked with doctoral or advanced graduate students, with internships and the dissertation process will be given preference.
- Ability to contribute to the development and delivery of online courses and teaching experience in online venues.
- A willingness and ability to take a leadership role as program coordinator.
