Adelphi is seeking a Dental Assistant to provide services at a facility in Syracuse, New York. The ideal candidate will provide support to the dental team and ensure patients' comfort and well-being throughout their dental procedures.

Requirements :

• Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant Program
• 1 year experience in dental assisting preffered

Responsibilities :

• Serve as chair side assistant to dental provider.
• Provide administrative support to the department (e.g. answering telephones, schedule patient appointments using hospital computer information systems, etc)
• Handle various dental instruments and pieces of apparatus as directed by the dental provider.
• Record patient's vital signs and follow proper medical record documentation protocol.
• Review patient's consent for treatment to ensure appropriate signatures are obtained.
• Observe safety precautions in the operation of x-ray equipment and the treatment of patients.
• Demonstrate understanding of sterile instrument processing, including use of autoclave.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of specific techniques and sequences of steps used in performing dental treatment in general and operative dental procedures.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
