The Opportunity :
Join our dedicated University of Central Florida (UCF) Student Health Team as a Primary Care Physician to provide excellent healthcare to the community that we serve.
The Primary Care Physician position at Student Health Services will provide services related to the diagnosis and treatment of patients and medical support functions.
This position will also provide psychological and counseling services of a remedial, preventive, and developmental nature through consultation / contact with patients.
The Primary Care Physician may also provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care and prevention.
Responsibilities :
Provide medical care including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and therapy for all patients.
Order and interpret tests.
Perform suturing and / or minor surgical procedures.
Counsel students on preventative health care.
Prescribe medications.
Prepare correspondence relating to patient care, maintain records promptly, and communicate with consultants and relatives of patients as necessary and permitted by law.
Participate in appropriate committees.
Participate in long-range planning and campus-wide health promotion.
Absolute confidentiality according to Florida statutes and Federal requirements.
Minimum Qualifications :
Licensed to practice medicine in accordance with Chapter 458, Florida Statutes, and 4+ years of relevant experience. Completion of a residency program may substitute for the required experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla.

Preferred Qualifications :
Preference may be given to candidates with experience in college health or comparable busy primary care outpatient clinical experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to relate well with staff and students in a college health environment.
Preference may be given to candidates with a Medical degree from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy.
Preference may be given to candidates that have completed a 3-year residency program in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, and are Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
