Reports To : Head of People & Talent

Position Summary :

The Human Resources Business Partner will work directly with Directors and Restaurant Operators to deliver quality associate experience by supporting a People First culture in all aspects of operations.

This role is responsible for managing day-to-day People functions relative to recruitment, performance management, associate relations, associate engagement, compliance, and HR admin for assigned venue locations.

The People Operations Business Partner works closely with management and associates to improve working relationships and drive engagement while upholding Puttshack's culture and values.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to :

  • Partner closely with venue leaders and managers to identify and resolve a variety of organizational, leadership, associate relations, development, and staffing issues.
  • Partners with executive leadership team / operations leaders on venue strategic business planning to determine project business priorities, support rollouts and monitor progress and execution.
  • Provide development coaching, counsel and training to venue leadership and Regional Directors to support ongoing performance expectations and accountability.
  • Conduct associate relation investigations, maintain investigation files, and partner with stakeholders on high-risk cases.
  • Takes a preventive, strategic approach to associate relations by identifying associate relation trends, recommending solutions that address root-cause of issue and partnering with leadership on execution.
  • Provide associate relations coaching and training to restaurant leaders; record and track associate relation issues and trends.
  • Administer or oversee the administration of human resource programs including but not limited to performance management, disputes and investigations, productivity, compliance, rewards and recognition and associate engagement.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with Business Partners and Operations Leaders to develop solutions, training, implement best practices, and policies.
  • Develops, recommends, and communicates strategies for enhancements to Associate Relations / Human Resources Programs to include process improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and / or major variations from established policy.
  • Partner with operations forecast to hiring needs and support succession planning within assigned region to enable growth and mobility.
  • Partner with Operations and Talent Acquisition to develop and execute recruitment plan for new venue openings.
  • Participate in Talent Planning sessions to track development of emerging leaders and identify gaps in leadership teams.
  • Provide support to Total Rewards Manager with promotions, annual salary increases cycles, and minimum wage increases as needed.
  • Partner with Learning & Development team to conduct training needs analysis, develop training and deliver compliance and People Operations related training.
  • Other projects or duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent job experience is required.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a multi-unit restaurant, hospitality or retail environment is required.
  • Knowledge of HR / labor laws, proven ability to handle confidential information and familiar with national and local legislation with experience in employee relations and HR compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills : ability to interact and build relationships with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to prepare and present information to guests, more senior associates, vendors, and management.
  • Ability to work as a self-directed individual taking initiative to identify and address business needs.
  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities.
  • Advanced ability to delegate tasks and get work done through others.
  • Solid knowledge and experience implementing recruitment / talent strategies.
  • Flexible, curious, and down to earth personality with a true passion for the business of people.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point.
  • Must be able to travel frequently to support business needs.
  • This position must pass a post-offer background check.

Preferred Skills and Experience :

PHR and / or SHRM-CP preferred.

Physical Requirements :

Physical activities on a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; frequent use of telephone / video conferencing and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means.

Some walking and lifting, up to 25 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate.
