Cell Leader / Back Up Supervisor Molding 2nd shift
MUST be willing and act as Back Up Supervisor when needed!

We currently have an opening for a Cell Leader / Back Up Supervisor based out of Charlestown, Indiana. This position will report to the Molding Supervisor.
This role is responsible for performing a variety of duties supporting the Molding Department. The successful candidate should possess strong motivational and leadership skills as well as the ability to problem solve.
The Cell Leader / Back Up Supervisor will perform all duties as listed on the Operator instructions, as well as perform all functions within their respective work cell.
They will be responsible for organizing all assigned resources to produce products according to the current schedule, and according to the approved quality standard.
They must also be aware at all times of any deviation from the current schedule, and will take appropriate action to either correct the shortfall, or advise the Plant Manager and Scheduler if the required corrective action exceeds their authority or available resources.
Assign employees to their workstations. Ensure that prior to the arrival of the cell team an inspection of the cell is made and that the previous cell leader has addressed the discrepancies found.
Provide the cell with packaging materials, documentation, forms, pens, calculators, knives, cutters, safety equipment and any other required items received from supervisor to ensure the smooth operation of the cell.
Ensure that all standard work instructions are being followed. Take aggressive measures towards housekeeping. Promote working tidy and organized without creating additional clean up that would adversely affect efficiencies.
Ensure the safety of all cell members. Report unsafe acts or conditions to the Supervisor and insist on full compliance to safety in the workplace.
At the completion of the shift, ensure that the cell is ready for immediate occupancy by the next team and full productivity can begin without reduction in efficiency or quality.
Ensure that disposition of all items and product within the cell is addressed. Example; partial box of product, materials on hold, etc.
Ensure labels are in their correct location at the Workstation. Ensure that the bins are labeled properly. Assign relief operators with in the cell for breaks and lunches as required.
Perform First-off, In-Process, and Final inspection of production parts according to the inspection and test procedure with the prescribed frequency and sample size including :
Dimensional evaluation of parts using appropriate gauges and fixtures including SPC studies. Ensure that equipment is properly calibrated prior to use.
Promptly report any items that are found to be out of calibration.
- Compare the production part(s) to applicable tolerances, requirements and limit samples to determine acceptability.
- Functional Checks,
- Colour, texture and appearance verification to standards.

- labeling and quantity checks
- Reporting and segregating any nonconforming product.
The Cell Leader will also Identify, segregate, and record non-conforming products and assist in problem solving and corrective actions as require.
Record inspection results on the appropriate forms. Ensure that all documentation required is accurate and complete including, P-charts, production reporting as required.
Participate in Gauge Accuracy, Repeatability and Reproducibility Studies. Support all departments in dimensional data collection, new launch capability studies as well as any additional support as requested.
Monitor process, product, and quality system performance in accordance with the applicable product standard and procedures.
Report any concerns through the DMR process. Contain all product from non-certified operators as per the training matrix.
General duties include Filing, preserving, disposing of various Quality Records as specified in the procedure Control of Quality Records .
Promote the efficiency improvement while maintaining the quality levels expected. Foster and promote continuous improvement efforts and ensure communication and follow up to the next management level.
Facilitate an open and honest communication network with Supervisors, PE’s, and Cell Team, as well as other employees. Promote pride of workmanship, urgency, consistency, punctuality and a positive team approach through leadership by example.
Monitor components inventory levels and advise Supervisor of low quantities. Continually verify that all items in the cell are required for the current running program.
Remove all other materials from previous jobs and return them to their proper storage locations. Prior to a program change, specific duties and responsibilities should be communicated to each member of the cell team to ensure the smooth transition as programs occur.
Monitor production to schedule and make the necessary adjustments to achieve desired quantity. If schedule cannot be achieved, notify the supervisor of the problem.
Train Operators as directed by the Supervisor.
