About the Role :

As Principal Research Analyst - Carbon Markets, you will be responsible for researching the Carbon Compliance Market (specifically, carbon allowances and offsets) and analyzing the wider-carbon market.

You will establish and maintain a reputation for Carbon Market expertise with the aim of becoming OPIS’ center of expertise in this market.

You will play a key role on the Energy Scenarios team under the VP of Energy Markets. You will also have a dotted-line report into the Director of Carbon Analytics.

You Will :

Provide neutral and objectively written content within Carbon Analytics including weekly and monthly reports, special topic papers, and strategic analyses

Lead the preparation of models, data sets, and analytics for activities covering the Carbon markets inclusive of energy, gas, and power inputs

Develop market presentations and share content at client meetings and conferences

Collaborate with OPIS Carbon Policy analysts to stay informed about regulatory changes unfolding to better understand changes in market dynamics

Help partner across OPIS businesses to set vision and product scope for an exciting, new Carbon Markets product that you will have a hand in marketing

Build and maintain industry contact relationships across producers, consumers, traders, and the financial community

You Have :

7+ years’ relevant experience

Knowledge of the Gas / Power sector, the energy value chain, and the related market dynamics

Experience in Carbon modeling to assess environmental impacts, investments in emissions reductions, and mitigation technologies (preferred)

Experience with databases, business intelligence applications, data visualization applications, data analysis, and data modeling

Experience communicating complex content to non-technical and technical audiences

Advanced Python, SAS, SPSS, R, SQL, Tableau, Excel, and PowerPoint

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred), Business, Finance / Accounting, Information Systems Management, Data Science or relevant discipline

Pay Range : $65,000 - $200,000
