Job Title : Automotive Worker Mech II
Location : Goose Creek, SC
Job Description : We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Worker Mech II to perform a variety of minor repairs and services to maintain motor vehicles.
The successful candidate will be responsible for tasks such as replacing batteries, rotating and repairing tires, washing and cleaning vehicle interiors and exteriors, and assisting on major overhaul jobs.
This position also involves field-level maintenance on U.S. Military automotive equipment, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and repair times.
Responsibilities :
- Perform minor repairs and services on motor vehicles.
- Place and maintain decals on vehicles.
- Check and replace batteries.
- Rotate, repair, and replace tires.
- Wash, polish, and clean interiors and exteriors of vehicles.
- Drain, flush, and replace engines, transmissions, and differential grease and oils.
- Check, clean, calibrate, and replace spark plugs.
- Clean and replace oil and air filters.
- Adjust brakes.
- Replace windshield wipers and other minor parts.
- Assist in major overhaul jobs by disassembling and cleaning parts.
- Repair components such as generators and water pumps.
- Replace thermostats, points, electrical wiring, and other items.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and clean work areas.
- Use personal and government-furnished tools for preventative maintenance and general repairs on automotive tactical and combat equipment.
- Perform field-level maintenance on U.S. Military automotive equipment, including inspection, parts identification, requisition, servicing, and repair.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation in accordance with regulations.
- Properly handle hazardous materials and waste generated during duties.
- Comply with federal, state, and local regulations for handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Handle movement of materiel and assets with forklifts and dollies.
- Deploy to support equipment issuing or receipt upon government notification.
- Wear personal protective equipment as required.
Required Qualifications / Skills :
- U.S. Citizen with a valid U.S. Passport.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
- Obtain and maintain local base access.
- Minimum 4 years of directly related work experience.
- Certificate of training from vocational school or related field.
- Certificate of training from a basic automotive maintenance course.
- Ability to interpret and apply technical instruction, schematics, and diagrams.
- Possess personal tools that meet the required tool list.
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to stand for 2 to 3 hours per day.
- Ability to walk for 4 to 5 hours per day.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. - 50 lbs. periodically.
- Ability to squat, kneel, bend, reach, and climb periodically.
- Ability to work in both outside and inside non-climate-controlled environments.
