ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

Role Responsibilities Administrative & Personnel :

Uses the wristband or photo card file to identify residents before performing procedures, serving meals, etc., as necessary

Records all entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, etc., in an informative and descriptive manner

Uses only authorized abbreviations established by this facility when recording information

Reports all changes in resident’s condition to the Nurse Supervisor / Charge Nurse as soon as practical

Performs all assigned tasks in accordance with our established policies and procedures, and as instructed by supervisors

Follows work assignments, and / or work schedules in completing and performing your assigned tasks

Notifies the facility when you will be late or absent from work in accordance with policies

Meets with your shift’s nursing personnel on a regularly scheduled basis to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas, and / or the improvement of services

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :

Must possess, as a minimum, a GED and Certified Nursing Assistant Course (120 hours)

Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with the laws of this state

Must be able to handle stressful situations and be flexible and adaptable

Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents

Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices

Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action

Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies / personnel, and the general public
