Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of intricate wiring, bonding, on fiber optic cable, connectors, junction boxes and similar equipment under direction of supervisor.
  • Must be able to read and understand schematic wiring diagrams and process sheets.
  • Must be able to use simple electrical instruments to make polarity determinations, measure insulating Resistance, perform dielectric withstanding voltage tests.
  • Must be able to assemble properly and use effectively various molds and plastic injection devices.
  • Must be able to work from detailed instructions on standard assemblies with guidance and supervision.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 1O's and lOO's. Perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Carry out detailed written or oral instructions independently.
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Able to lift 50lbs

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to apply common sense in performing job
  • Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to use basic high school math skills
  • 2-4 years cable assembly experience

Physical Demands :

  • Good coordination and flexibility in both hands
  • Move and occasionally lift up to 50lbs. or more
  • Good vision including passing color blindness test

Work Environment :

  • Use of safety glasses
  • Use of steel protective shoes or protective shoe covers
