An art museum is seeking a Network / Systems Administrator to collaborate closely with the Senior Network Administrator and Help Desk in supporting the museum’s computer network and end users.
This role requires staying updated on technology trends and security best practices to ensure the security and efficiency of the Microsoft Windows environment, including Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft 365.
The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in network administration to optimize system performance, resolve issues promptly, and contribute to ongoing network enhancements.
Responsibilities :
Collaborate with the Senior Network Administrator to configure, maintain, and upgrade all components of the Museum’s technology infrastructure, including on-site servers, switches, security appliances, and storage devices.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of the network infrastructure and operational procedures.
Conduct training sessions for additional support staff on Museum technology policies, procedures, and best practices.
Assist the Senior Network Administrator in managing patch schedules, MDR / XDR, and local firewalls for desktops and servers.
Administer Active Directory structure, ensuring security and implementing group policies.
Create and update Windows scripts as required to support operational needs.
Act as a point of escalation for complex Help Desk issues, providing technical expertise and guidance.
Collaborate with the Senior Network Administrator to implement and enforce policies, procedures, and best practices.
Configure and manage system backups, including tape rotations, backup verifications, and restoration procedures.
Assist with the physical relocation and installation of computer and printer equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the Museum's technology infrastructure and operations.
Qualifications :
Extensive knowledge of Windows Server environments, including Active Directory on Premises, Azure AD (Entra), Microsoft Exchange Online, and Microsoft 365 Suite
Proficient with MDM products such as JAMF and Intune
Skilled in supporting Windows and Mac users within a Windows Active Directory environment
Strong understanding of networking protocols, firewalls, and network security
Advanced proficiency in PowerShell scripting
Over two years of experience supporting multiple users and servers in a production environment, including machines configured with Group Policy
Familiarity with data backup and disaster recovery procedures
Experience with VMware or other workload virtualization technologies
Ability to multitask effectively and deliver excellent customer service
Exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to achieve goals independently with minimal supervision
Pay Details : $75, to $80, per year
