Job Description

The Production Engineer role will develop and implement project plans relating to production; will keep track of day-to-day tasks and big-picture projects, monitoring project milestones, build and follow a schedule, driving various stages of production forward.

Managing time well and being highly organized is important, helping ensure that production runs smoothly and efficiently.

The role will need analytical skills to assess the processes and equipment in place for production. In doing so, the role will use analysis to determine more efficient approaches, facility layouts and reduce inefficiencies across the production process.

This role will also identify and then solve production problems that improve production. This role needs to look at production situations differently and build solutions that may not be immediately obvious or conventional.

The production engineering role requires strong manufacturing skills to understand the technical aspect of the production process.

This includes knowing how CNC machines, tools and assembling works. This role also requires having proficiency in 3D software SolidWorks.

All product lines and parts are developed in SolidWorks.

An important step of any manufacturing line is quality control. Reviewing and developing methods to test and review a product against a set of standards, ensuring it meets all criteria and is ready for market.

This role plays a pivotal part in quality control as it is the production engineers processes that have the product go from raw materials to a complete product.

The production engineering will implement and be responsible for standard operating procedures, assembly manuals and other operational documentation to support production.

The most important part of any role at Wild Goose is clear communication within the company. The Production engineer role will require communication to all levels of the business.

The individual will require to understand how their communication needs to adapt so that technical information, instructions and updates to any team members, from production staff to upper management is clear and comprehensible to all.

Job Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining detailed documentation for production operations, including production drawings, process flowcharts and standard operating procedures
• Review new production drawings from engineering and final sign off for production
• Develop and maintain machine assembly manuals
• Manage bill of materials (BOM) for all current and future equipment builds
• Update bill of materials when parts are changed, modification, efficiency or etc.
• Update quality processes and check off forms for existing and new assemblies
• Work with procurement on vendor replacement for costing and phase out of old models or warranty ware parts
• Support machine setup and Fixture Designs
• Mange Engineering Change orders (ECO) request for production
• Develop manufacturing facilities layouts efficiency of flows for machining and assembly
• Supports role out of new equipment assemblies, updates to existing
• Supports shipping design for final equipment assemblies, to reduce cost and possible warranty damage
• Reviews all R&D and engineering machining request before adding to schedule
• Supports Product development Engineering reviews, to make sure all documents and process meet minimum requirements for production

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ME, CHE, or IE preferred)
• 2 years experience working with industrial production
• 2 years manufacturing experience
• Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD software.
• Familiarity with 2D AutoCAD
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite
• Proven experience in the engineering field
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills with a team mentality
• Ability to read, understand and evaluate engineering drawings to identify errors or potential improvements
