Minimum Qualifications

Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education / experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Three (3) years experience in Human Resources.

Three (3) years experience at University of Georgia or University System of Georgia.

Position Summary

The Human Resources Coordinator provides human resources guidance and support for units within the College of Family and Consumer Sciences ( FACS ).

The Human Resources Coordinator is a member of the Office of Finance and Human Resources ( OFHR ) and reports to the Assistant Director of Human Resources.

The position primarily provides support for graduate assistantship matters including policies, procedures, and resources.

This role is vital to the College in coordinating with Departmental Graduate Coordinators (4) on new and returning graduate assistantships, offer letters, Graduate Research Assistant healthcare, payroll changes and verifications, tuition waiver submissions, employment actions, and GTRIP .

Graduate Assistantship Management

  • Coordinate with department Graduate Coordinators (4) to create and deliver graduate assistantship offer letters.
  • Initiate and track all graduate assistantships employment actions in UGAJobs and OneUSG Connect including FTE changes, short work breaks, return from work breaks, and terminations.
  • Submit and track tuition waiver requests with Graduate School.
  • Manage FACS Graduate Assistantship performance evaluation process, including communicating deadlines to faculty supervisors and distributing evaluations to department Graduate Coordinators.
  • Entry coding in system for GTRIP
  • Communicate Graduate School, Payroll Office and FACS deadlines to faculty supervisors and Graduate Coordinators.
  • Maintain College Graduate Assistant Database and tracking.
  • Maintain and reconcile college-wide assistantship spreadsheet itemized by department and provide updates to Graduate Coordinators.
  • Attend and provide status updates at regular college Graduate Coordinators meetings.
  • Communicate deadlines and collects performance evaluations of Graduate Teaching. Assistants and Graduate Research Assistants for distribution to appropriate Department Graduate Coordinators.
  • Communicate Graduate School and Payroll deadlines to faculty supervisors and Graduate Coordinators and partners with Graduate Coordinators on FTE change approvals, etc.
  • Develop internal processes, procedures and policies as needed.

College HR Support

Serve as FACS lead for student, postdoc and temporary position, posting and hiring proposal actions submitted in University of Georgia's position management and applicant tracking system, UGAJobs.

Ensure accuracy, approvals and completion of actions.

  • Advise FACS units on policies, procedures and best practices related to all areas of employment for student, postdoc and temporary positions.
  • Confirm completion of position and hiring proposal actions and partner with OFHR Payroll Manager and Departmental Financial Practitioners to verify all associated payroll actions are processed timely.
  • Co- manage FACS Human Resources email account working closely with HR Generalist position and answer questions or escalate to Assistant Director of Human Resources and / or Senior Director for Finance and Human Resources as appropriate.
  • Initiate and track DocuSign signature routing for human resources documentation and forms.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of institutional policies, systems, state and federal law, communicating new policies or changes to existing policy throughout the organization.
