Performs evaluations of referred patients, then plans and implements exercise and treatments to rehabilitate the physical faculties of both in and out patients;
functions within the policies, practice guidelines, procedures and physician directives of SMA and the department of Ambulatory Care in accordance with State Practice Acts.
Required Skills / Qualifications / Training / Experience :
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to direct the provision of care appropriate to the age of patients served
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principals of growth and development
- Able to assess and interpret data reflective of the client’s status
- Provides and directs care outlined in standards, policies and procedures
- SMH orientation required
- Command of verbal and written English
- Leadership management abilities
- Operation of clinical equipment
- Demonstrates clinical competence
- Positive interpersonal communication skills
Preferred Skills / Qualifications / Training / Experience :
- Acute care therapy experience
- New graduates accepted
Educational Requirements :
- Graduate from a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred
- DPT program in Physical Therapy preferred
License / Certification :
- Current MA licensure
