Background
The team has a need for help with database functions to support legacy applications and the billing process which is heavy on SQL queries and stored procedures.
In addition, we need to have a backup for our sole Database Administrator. The ideal candidate will be strong in SQL and have some software development skills that we can grow over time.
Job Summary
The Database Administrator will help deliver new features and enhancements to the dashboards and portals that support our business.
They will be a SQL developer (MSSQL) with knowledge of ETL (extract-transform-load) processes and will be responsible for the design, development and delivery of data for web applications and reporting solutions.
In addition, the successful candidate will be dedicating time to work with our existing Database Administrators on database architecture, internal data requests, reporting, and database maintenance.
Required Skills
- Develop, implement and optimize stored procedures and functions using T-SQL
- Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements
- Develop stored procedures and scripts for data migration
- Perform tasks such as QA testing, data loading, and validation
- Automate routine processes where possible using available tools : stored procedures, SSIS packages, PowerShell scripts, etc.
- Ensure data quality throughout entire data management process
- Work with application developers to provide solutions meeting business requirements featuring stability and flexibility in a timely manner
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and development practices and sharing information with the development team when applicable
Desired Skills
- Have a strong background in end-to-end information management and application development
- Experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript / Bootstrap / jQuery / ReactJS / Typescript / ECMAScript 6 / Node JS / NPM
- Understanding of Message Brokers like RabbitMQ
