The Process Engineer performs advanced engineering tasks under limited supervision. Help to mentor the engineering design team in development projects throughout the entire cycle from initial concept through completion.
Responsibilities
- Participate in industry groups.
- Perform advanced engineering tasks under limited supervision.
- Oversees all aspects of a significant engineering project, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget.
- Develops an action plan and estimates requirements for resources management, labor, materials, and time required to complete project.
- Prepares monthly reports, detailing progress and costs for top management.
- User of CAE tools such as SolidWorks, MATLAB, LabView, Minitab, EES, CFD, FEA.
- Develops and applies engineering standards and procedures, and provides advice on issues within the engineering field.
- Analyzes and identifies causes of component failures.
- Capable of providing technical solutions to help solve manufacturing issues or address customer field issues; has some familiarity with multiple operations.
- Use team management skills to lead the design group during the conceptual phase of product development.
- Conduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.
- Finish assigned engineering projects in accordance with customer specifications and within schedule and budget limitations, coordinating activities of engineering team, contractors, and vendors.
- Lead brainstorming activities for specific needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience. Experience with lean manufacturing and conducting capability studies preferred.
- 6 sigma or FMEA experience a plus
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills; solves complex problems.
- Experience leading Kaizen related or Continuous Improvement Activity
- Ability to analyze and resolve issues quickly through root cause analysis
- Strong communications via written and oral
- Knowledge of SAP and MRP systems is beneficial
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Access, Excel, Power Point and AutoCAD. Solidworks preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Uses team management skills to lead the design group during the conceptual phase of product development.
- Conduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.
