Job Title : Seasonal Laborer

Job Description

Join our team as a Seasonal Laborer with the opportunity to earn full-time employment based on your performance and skills.

This role ends in December, with unemployment and continued health benefits available during the layoff season (Dec-Feb / March).

You will be brought back every year or hired on full-time if you demonstrate reliability, attendance, and versatility in various roles such as Labor, Maintenance, Operating, and Driving.

The work involves using hand tools in both a yard environment and on highways and interstate systems. Yard duties include loading and unloading trucks with barricades, traffic cones, and barrels, as well as assembling barricades.

Highway and interstate duties involve unloading and setting up barricades, cones, barrels, and signs. Flexibility is crucial as job duties can change on short notice.

Hard Skills

• Familiarity with hand tools (wrenches, pliers, impact drills)
• Experience with forklift or skid steer operation (preferred but training available)
• Experience in construction labor and handyman skills
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, potentially day or night shifts starting between 5am-7am or 5pm-7am
• Experience with loading and unloading trucks

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Work Environment

Commercial construction sites with lots of activity and a fast-paced environment. Flexibility and organization are essential due to the dynamic nature of traffic control tasks.

Candidates must be prepared for changing plans and reorientation as needed.
