NTB & Mavis Tires & Brakes - Automotive Mechanic / State Certified Inspector

NTB is proud to join the Mavis Tire Family. We are currently seeking a full-time Automotive Mechanic / State Certified Inspector to join Team Mavis at one of our advanced automotive service and tire sales centers located in the Alexandria, VA area.

About the Position of Automotive Mechanic / State Certified Inspector

At Mavis, our Automotive Mechanics are the trusted leaders in under-car repairs. They inspect, diagnose, and perform a wide range of automotive services on customers' vehicles.

Our Certified Automotive Mechanics specialize in under-car repairs such as brakes, struts, and shocks. They are also responsible for changing oil and filters, checking fluids, replacing worn parts, and dismounting, mounting, rotating, balancing tires, and completing state-mandated inspections.

Please note that only certified and licensed individuals authorized by the Department of State Police are eligible to conduct inspections of motor vehicles as required by the State of Virginia.

As an active role, Automotive Mechanics are required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach, and perform repetitive and consistent movements in line with vehicle maintenance and repair.

Mechanics must regularly lift and move items weighing over 50 pounds.

Qualifications To qualify for the role of Automotive Mechanic / State Certified Inspector , you must meet the following requirements :

  • be at least 18 years old;
  • Possess a valid Virginia driver's license.
  • Hold a valid safety inspector's license; Must be in your possession at all times while conducting inspections.
  • Possess a minimum of one year of experience as an automotive mechanic or six months of experience as an automotive mechanic combined with an additional and separate six months of a certified state inspector;

or Satisfactorily completed a training program in the field of automotive mechanics approved by the Superintendent of State Police.
