Mueller Water Products, the nation's leading manufacturer of flow control devices for the water and gas distribution industries, has an immediate opening for a Shipping & Receiving C lerk in our Decatur, IL facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Prepare, print, and sort bills of lading for shipping
- Prepare Customs paperwork including commercial invoices for shipments to Canada
- Photograph international shipments prior to shipping
- Communicate with Customer Service and provide information as requested including copies of packing slips or delivery receipts and tracking numbers
- Communicate with carriers and provide copies of bills of lading as needed
- Investigate claims of shortages / overages by communicating with carriers, Customer Service, and Accounts Receivables and provide paperwork for credit memos as needed
- Provide paperwork and documents as needed
- Prepare shipping documents for transfer to storage
- Track manpower weight averages
- Assist Shipping Manager and Shipping Supervisor when required
- Order supplies for Shipping Department
Required Experience and / or Education :
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effectively work in a team
- Ability to successfully achieve goals through influence
- Strong analytical mindset
- Demonstrated ability to follow and challenge Standard Work processes
- Technologically flexible
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to identify roadblocks in material / information flow and manage exceptions

- Exposure to global thought process and diversity
- Ability to adapt to cultural differences
- 2+ years' general work experience in a shipping / receiving environment
