Position Information Job Type Non-Faculty Position Title Director of Advancement Systems & Technology Position Number E Department Institutional Advancement Location Morehouse College - Atlanta, GA Position Summary Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Strategic Advancement Operations, the Director is responsible for strategically designing and deploying state-of-the-art application platforms, CRM administration, IT operations infrastructure, and data integration to further OIA efforts and success.

The Director solves business problems by building, configuring, and automating technology solutions to deliver business value.

He / she will drive proactive services to continually improve and enhance OIA’s CRM (Salesforce Ascend) by gathering requirements and feedback, designing scalable best practice solutions, and managing the product road map.

The Director should be comfortable with change management and data governance, as well as communicating, prioritizing, and managing all aspects of a CRM or IT project.

The ideal candidate will be happy liaising with stakeholders at all levels, with the ability to translate technical information into layman’s terms, clearly explaining design options and their potential impact.

He / she will ensure optimal performance of systems, products, and applications. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business or a related information technology field
  • Five or more years of Salesforce Administration hands-on experience
  • Certified Salesforce Administrator
  • Sandbox environment management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advance degree preferred
  • Eight or more years of work experience in an information technology area
  • Experience overseeing large and / or complex information technology / Salesforce projects
  • Experience with a nonprofit and / or fundraising campaigns

Preferred Education / Experience Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Provide strategic oversite for OIA web applications development, CRM administration, IT operations infrastructure, and data integration.

Responsible for functional and technical designs of solutions, including UI, data architecture and processing.

  • Serve as lead OIA information technologist responsible for planning, policy, and procedure development, technical documentation, evaluation of new technology, setting technology direction, resource management, and the general project management of unit IT activities.
  • Work with stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify and gather requirements, translating into best practice, scalable solutions with a focus on exceptional user experience.

Create a platform roadmap and define priorities.

  • Ensure optimal performance of systems, products, and applications. Monitor and improve user adoption. Identify unused or underutilized platform features and determine solutions for usage improvement.
  • Identify technology needs and make recommendations on new technology platforms and applications to business decision-makers as warranted.

Develop, implement, and evaluate IT projects in line with OIA objectives.

  • Provide new user and ongoing user training.
  • Track and report out on various application, system, and data integrity metrics.
  • Configure, maintain, and support Salesforce Ascend and suite of related products.
  • Manage all aspects of Salesforce Ascend user and license management including new user setup / deactivation, roles, profiles, permissions, sharing rules, workflows, and public groups.
  • Manage Salesforce Ascend configuration changes, including (but not limited to) : flow, assignment rules, approval processes, fields, page layouts, record types, dynamic layouts, apps, actions, custom settings and mobile administration.
  • Provide proactive Salesforce Ascend maintenance, including security reviews, health check and optimizer. Identify vulnerabilities, the need for upgrades, and opportunities for improvement.

Evaluate and install new CRM releases, as well as providing training and support.

Oversee Salesforce Ascend data integrity. Create strategic plan for proactive data integrity services. Identify opportunities for data quality improvements.

As needed, develop and implement rules and automation. Performing database maintenance tasks, including diagnostic tests and duplicate entry cleansing.

  • Manage and assign Salesforce Ascend cases (user support tickets).
  • Liaise with Morehouse College IT department. Acts as the key resource and subject matter expert for OIA information technology to campus.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external advisors and vendors.
  • Interact with national or international technology groups and professionals to resolve problems with industry scope, determine standards and best practices, and exchange state of industry information.
