Cardinal Ritter Senior Services, one of South County's largest independent, assisted living, skilled nursing and rehabilitation nonprofit senior living communities, seeks compassionate and experienced PRN Receptionist to join our growing team.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Serves as ambassador of goodwill to all who enter the assisted living facility.
- Closely monitor the coming and going of residents and visitors for the safety of all.
- Provides and promotes customer services for residents, employees and visitors.
- Answers and screens all incoming telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner. Routes calls and takes messages, as appropriate.
- Gives basic facility information, such as brochures and informational packets, to persons wanting information about the assisted living program.
Forwards admission inquiries to the Admissions Coordinator.
- Greets all visitors to "sign in" at reception desk.
- Receives and processes mail for facility, staff and residents ensuring confidentiality. Accepts all outgoing mail / packages and arranges for delivery services.
- Assist in the admission of new residents as needed.
- Sort resident newspapers and put in appropriate mailboxes.
- Prepare the following week's menus.
- Assist in the completion of resident work orders for maintenance.
- Carry out all safety procedures and training according to the disaster manual.
- Distributes mail and media to residents as they come in and request it.
- Types, copies, and performs other clerical duties.
- Maintains office / lobby keys.
- Maintains and updates log of all emergency phone numbers. Keeps log at front office.
- Schedules beauty shop appointments in the absence of the beautician.
- Demonstrates an appreciation of the heritage, values, and wisdom of the residents and an understanding of the aging process.
- Prepares holiday themed centerpieces and other projects as needed.
- Assists in the monthly updating and posting of the bulletin board.
- Maintain supply of blank forms for all departmental use.
- Maintain postage in the metered mail machine.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma
- At least 1-year office experience
SKILLS & ATTITUDES REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS IN JOB
- Must possess a high degree of interpersonal relation skills and capability of relating to a variety of people and personalities.
- Considerable initiative and judgment is required.
- Must have word processing and clerical skills.
- Must be Electronic Health Record literate.
- Must be able to work flexible hours and participate in holiday activities.
RELATIONSHIPS REQUIREMENTS
Requires flexibility and a good deal of judgment when dealing with residents and their families as well as fellow staff members.
Skills must be applied on a daily basis.
