PRIMARY FUNCTION / RESPONSIBILTY

Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of data entry into the PIERS and VisitTracker database. Responsible for reporting inaccurate data, investigating data quality problems, and advocating for improvement in data workflows.

The Data Specialist is a highly meticulous, organized candidate who manages data entry and reporting for multiple grants.

Their primary responsibilities include collecting data monthly and entering this data into the corresponding grant data base.

They work with colleagues to ensure consistency of documentation practice across the department and train employees on efficient documentation usage, among other duties.

This position will serve all counties under SJRC Texas & Belong.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collect and enter all departmental data into the corresponding grant data bases.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports as scheduled by the PAT Program including but not limited to a monthly Summary of Service (SOS), mileage documentation and TPCN documentation and billing.
  • Maintain the ability to use time and resources effectively to meet job requirements.
  • Ensure all program data is accurate and detailed.
  • Ensure all data is entered within the required time frame for each grant.
  • Collect and analyze program statistics.
  • Strong organizational and record keeping skills.
  • Ensure all program information is accurately entered in all data system.
  • Support any requests or projects related to data and compliance.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities to improve compliance, efficiency, and effectiveness of data collection.
  • Partner with other data related positions across the organization.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and conferences as required.
  • Assist with completion of the PAT Annual Performance Report
  • Monitor and manage a healthy balance between personal and professional responsibilities.
  • Other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Required :

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college of university in computer science, statistics, or other applicable field.
  • 1+ Years experience in applicable fields.

General :

  • Valid state drivers license, good driving record, ability to provide own transportation and proof of current automobile insurance
  • CPR / First Aid Certification (provided)

Skills :

Experience with data systems such as VisitTracker and / or PIERS

Professional :

Familiarity with grant tracking and reporting.

PHYSICAL / MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Body mobility to stoop, kneel, bend, reach, and walk.
  • Stamina to work long days and drive long distances.
  • Light to moderate lifting.
  • Must have the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Must have the ability to give and receive verbal and written instructions (with or without hearing aids).
  • Must have the ability to read fine print, have sustained vision, and peripheral vision (with or without glasses).
  • Environment requires dexterity to remain calm and adapt to fast paced and emotional environments consisting of children with moderate to severe emotional and psychological needs.
  • Minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Home-like settings with varying moderate to high degrees of background noise.
  • Light and ventilation are found in a typical home setting.
  • Some travel between locations required.
  • Campuses are smoke-free, except on permitted campuses in designated areas.
  • Possible injury when lifting or moving if employee fails to use proper body mechanics, or if proper techniques are not used.
