Position : Real Estate Attorney
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Draft, negotiate and finalize retail and office leases, amendments, terminations and ancillary lease documents for real estate development / management company
- Manage a revolving workload of lease transactions
- Assist with acquisitions, dispositions and financing of commercial real estate properties
- Supervise paralegal and liaison with other departments (accounting, construction and property management) to coordinate lease activation
- Maintain and review deal status reports and conduct status meetings.
- Track and oversee real estate tax assessment challenges and direct outside real estate tax counsel.
- Participate in FPL Leasing Investment Committee
Role Description :
This is a full-time on-site role for a Real Estate Attorney at Friedman Properties. The position will assist the General Counsel in an exciting and entrepreneurial environment.
The role includes leasing, financing, acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures and entitlements work. The Real Estate Attorney will get first-hand exposure to the internal business side of real estate development as well as managing relationships with outside counsel.
Minimum candidate requirements :
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the Illinois State Bar
- 3-5 years of related real estate leasing
- Working knowledge and experience of MS Office (Word, Excel), Yardi
- Ability to work independently and creatively in a small-team environment
