Laundry Attendant

POSITION SUMMARY :
To wash, dry and fold housekeeping linen and terry. Be flexible to work in other departments to help when needed. To be always courteous, positive, and helpful to all guests and other associates.
To be professional at all times, in demeanor and appearance.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :
- Sort, wash, fold and deliver linen to housekeeping closets.
- Fold linen to hotel standard with minimal wrinkles.
- Operate hotel rotary iron for linen with safety and precaution.
- Maintain cleanliness of washing machines and dryers clean lint traps and drains.
- Monitor linen for stains and wear and tear follow proper procedure for reclaim.
- Collect dirty linen from attendants, guest rooms and housekeeping carts if needed.
- Report any malfunction of washer and dryers to Housekeeping Management.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of laundry room and storage laundry room.
- Remove any accumulated trash in laundry room.
- Assist with deep cleaning projects and cleanliness of employee areas breakroom, locker rooms, and employee hallways.
- Provideprofessiona, courteous, respectful guest service in a timely manner.
- Become part of a close working team of proud professionals.
- Must love customer service and find satisfaction in serving others.
- Adhere to all hotel safety practices, policies and procedures.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES :
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- No experience, necessary, will be trained.
- Basic English reading, writing, and communication skills.
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and / or flexible hours.
- Willingness to comply with hotel’s policy and procedures regarding attendance and attire.
- Working knowledge of Excel and Word.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as, but not limited to, a vacuum.
- Ability to properly and safely use chemicals.
