Continuous Improvement Engineer- Facilities Planning Department

Job Summary

This position is responsible for developing evaluations on current and future building space utilization based on LEAN methodology which will be used by senior hospital leaders in making decisions about room assignments, space remodeling, and real estate purchases.

Further, this position will assist in the preparation and review of KPI tracking, regulation compliance, and cost management strategies focused on the long term success of the health system.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Experience required :

Education : Degree in business analytics, industrial engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Comparable combination of education and experience may be considered.

Experience : Experience in an acute care hospital working with business analytics preferred.

Additional Skills / Abilities : This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, applicant must have well-developed interpersonal skills, and the ability to logically asses complex information.

Candidate must manage and appropriately prioritize multiple assignments in a stressful work environment. This position requires an understanding of the impact of decisions on all areas of the health system and the ability to adapt to a changing environment.

One must be proficient in use of personal computers including word processing (MS Word), spread sheet applications (MS Excel), and database application management.

The candidate must have the ability to effectively communicate with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds and understand the importance of various departments working together.

Once hired, the individual must complete the following Huntsville Hospital classes through Corporate University within six months : Just Culture, Top Employment Traps for Managers, Seven Habits of Highly Effective People in Healthcare, Workplace Professionalism, Personal Style Indicator, and A Leaders Guide to Worker’s Compensation.
