Position Summary :
The purpose of the Relief Pharmacist is to provide coverage in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital Pharmacy for filling and approving prescriptions, and providing guidance to clinical and technical staff regarding effects of medications.
Relevant / Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position :
Qualified candidates must possess the following qualifications :
- Bachelor Degree or PharmD in Pharmacy
- Current State of GA license
- exposure to veterinary prescriptions for both large and small animals preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and / or Competencies :
- Ability to work on Monday and / or Friday and on call hours during weekends or holidays
- Ability to work well as a team and as an individual
Physical Demands :
- Lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Sit, stand, stoop bend and walk intermittently during the day on hard floor surfaces.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to accurately work with small, delicate pieces of equipment or large heavy objects / containers / machinery.
- Wearing all protective gear including mask, gloves, gown, hairnet, safety goggles etc.
- Work for long periods of time with arms extended.
