Why This Role :
Are you ready to join a dynamic, family-owned personal care company with a rich history of innovation and growth? At Combe Incorporated, we seek a Sr.
Manager North America General Accounting who will be pivotal in leading our ERP implementation and managing our monthly general accounting close process.
As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to support various global implementations, build relationships across departments, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations.
This role is perfect for someone with a passion for accounting, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead complex projects independently.
What You'll Do : ERP Implementation and System Management
- Lead the ERP implementation within the finance area, specifically focusing on General Ledger, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Intercompany, Projects, and Lease modules.
- Build and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and controls for the new ERP system.
- Research and implement new accounting pronouncements as needed.
Monthly Close Process
- Own the monthly general accounting close process for North America, ensuring the completeness of various accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, lease assets and liabilities, cloud assets, and debt.
- Analyze and report on material variances on the North American balance sheet and income statement.
Budgeting, Forecasting, and Audits
- Partner with legal and tax departments to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting of professional fees.
- Be responsible for global Lease accounting and disclosure in accordance with ASC 842.
- Support Risk Management by coordinating data collection and review for annual insurance renewals.
- Prepare quarterly and annual footnote disclosures for areas within your responsibility.
- Lead the annual North America external audit, ensuring timely and accurate responses to audit requests.
Operational Improvement and Special Projects
- Identify ways to improve and standardize processes to create efficiencies in the financial close process.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to find opportunities for cost savings.
- Lead complex special projects as needed.
What We're Looking For :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA certification preferred).
- Seven or more years of validated experience in accounting in a CPG and / or manufacturing environment, with a successful track record in leading and handling the accounting function.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and identify trends and variances.
- Demonstrated expertise in ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
- Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively communicating complex financial data to non-financial collaborators.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
