Maintenance Technician

Overall Responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician is a key team member of the Maintenance Department. This position is primarily responsible for installation, troubleshooting maintenance repairs, and scheduled preventative maintenance of loading and packing machines and plant facilities.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Assist with installation and setup machines and equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment and facilities
• Routine inspections of machinery and equipment to determine adjustments and repairs
• Troubleshoot and repair down processing and building equipment
• Support processing with changeover and product setup / startup
• Ability to learn egg grading system

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 5-7 years previous machine mechanical experience required
• Industrial equipment background preferred
• Knowledge and experience with pneumatic systems required
• Basic understanding of electricity and electrical wiring as it relates to machinery and equipment
• Ability to trouble shoot AC and DC electrical components
• Understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and proper chemical handling
• Ability to obtain Fork Truck certification
• Experience with hand and power tools
• Experience troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairing electro-mechanical equipment
• Blueprint, sketch layout, wiring diagram, drawing, and specification interpretation skills
• Basic Microsoft Outlook / Word / Excel knowledge
• Knowledge of FGQ and GMPs preferred

• Must be able to work as team and achieve company goals
• Good hand eye coordination
• Manual dexterity and electro-mechanical aptitude
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• 20 / 20 vision either with or without the aid of corrective lenses
• Tasks will require standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing
• Tasks will require the use of hand and arms, reaching and repetitive motions
• Must be able to work extended hours and a flexible schedule on short notice
