Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Oversees month end close processes to produce accurate financial statements
- Manages balance sheet and bank account reconciliations
- Monitors and reviews financial transactions and reconciliations performed by accountants
- Prepares monthly and annual reconciliations to ensure financial accounts are fairly stated
- Ensures that accurate records of inventory, fixed assets, and other financial data are maintained
- Oversees accounts payable processing, vendor record maintenance, and non-patient receivables
- Ensures accounting controls are followed and works with Internal Audit to identify and resolve deficiencies
- Works with Corporate Controller and VP Systems Finance to develop, review, and update accounting policies and procedures and organizational policies related to financial transactions
- Assists with coordination and preparation of the year-end audit
- Leads implementation of technology solutions to enhance and optimize current system functionality
Other Functions :
- Prepares journal entries as needed
- Develops staff to cultivate an environment of learning and engagement
- Keeps abreast of accounting developments by the Financial Accounting Standards Board to ensure all accounting practices stay in compliance
- Adheres to corporate and regulatory agency policies
- Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Three or more years of progressively responsible experience managing accounting, accounts payable and asset management functions
- Advanced knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Preferred Qualifications :
- Five or more years of experience managing accounting, payroll, and accounts payable functions in a healthcare organization
- Basic understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance reimbursement
