SUMMARY : Directs and coordinates activities concerned with production of company product(s).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following : Other duties may be assigned.
- Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
- Coordinates production activities with Material Control, Maintenance, Manufacturing Engineering, Sales, Customer Service and Quality Control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
- Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems.
- Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality and production output.
- Revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure, operating problems, or changes in customer requirements.
- Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
- Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data. Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Establishes and maintains training program and related training records.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Requires knowledge typically acquired through :
- Completion of a Bachelors degree from a four year college or university,
- Seven to ten years of related experience or training; and / or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft and ERP systems.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and employees.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in the situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
