The other two locations they cover woulddepend on where the candidate is located.
State Vehicle provided to travel to DOCfacilities once the candidate is fully onboarded and startsdelivering consistently we can be flexible to have their homeoffice be updated to the Vehicle location / vehicle base pointwhere the state vehicle can be parked when not inuse.
At least 3 days atfacilities could be more depending on items going on during theweek. Normally its 3 days at facilities but sometimes during rollouts or critical priorities could be more than 3days
No overnightsnormally except in case of a criticalemergency.
Generallybetween 45 minutes to 1 hours 45 mins or so between facilities nowIndian creek and St Brides above are next to each other aka 5 7mins or drive at the max bt facilities.
ABOUT THE ROLE
TheField Technology Services team is seeking someone with strongtechnical skills to manage maintain troubleshoot repair and updatesoftware hardware and networking as necessary to support theVirginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) education programs &operations efforts for VADOC sites and facilities.
Field Technology Specialist provides technical adviceguidance and implementation of complex work items involvingeducational and DOC Operations software products such as AZTECLexis Nexis GED Academy Auto CAD Teknimedia Alexandria Elevate andsimilar software packages.
Provides technical support of complexwork problems involving computer technology to include workstationand server hardware software and operating systems networkinghardware software and infrastructure and various operating systemssoftware.
Responsibilities include independently installingupdating and management of applications and hardware at theassigned facilities.
All candidates must becomfortable going onsite to DOC facilities. This person will beworking within the Field Technology team so they will be requiredto travel to different sites.
Will do our best to allow remote workwhen possible but the nature of the work requires an onsiteresource.
Work experience in the computersupport field. A combination of desktop server & networksupport is required within a fastpaced delivery oriented agileenvironment.
This position must be able to perform withminimal direct supervision and may be required to use their home asa base of operation.
Significant travel (usually day trips) may berequired.
