The Compensation Analyst will be a member of the Compensation team and will assist in theadministration and maintenance of the University Career Architecture and pay structure.
This position will serveas a resource for campus on all related compensation matters for university staff employees by providingeducation and advice on market practices and trends and ensure legal compliance, equity, and alignment with compensation practices / guidelines and University Compensation Philosophy.
This position is fully remote within the state of Arizona

Compensation Transaction Review and Analysis for Client Groups :
- Collaborates with assigned units and HR Partners to review position descriptions and determine appropriate position mapping within career architecture for the creation of new positions.
- Assess for approval initial salary placement required to be reviewed by compensation such as above midpoint pay requests.
- Review and assess compensation change requests ( merit and additional duties pay), promotional requests, or job remapping requests.
- Ensures compensation decisions are fair and equitable and align with the University Compensation Administration Guidelines.
Compensation Projects Requested by Client Groups :
- Provides information, education and advice on market practices, trends, analysis and data related to compensation.
- Recommends solutions in accordance with established policies, procedures and applicable laws.
- Provides analytical support and prepares summaries to demonstrate awareness of potential impact of compensation decisions.
- Conducts internal equity analysis as needed.
Compensation Team Project Support :
- Assist in the administration and maintenance of the University's career architecture and pay structure.
- Provide support to higher level analyst in efforts to conduct annual benchmarking of UA jobs.
- Provide support to senior compensation analysts for the completion of market surveys.
- May provide recommendations to compensation leadership on salary increase budgets, market conditions, strategic opportunities, and salary structure movement.
- May also provide preliminary benchmarking analysis and give recommendations to Compensation leadership as needed throughout the year to ensure competitive market positioning.
Compensation Data Analytics :
- Assist in compiling data for routine survey participation for various university partners and organizations.
- Compile data from various software platforms as needed for either client group or compensation team projects.
Compensation Compliance :
- Identifies areas of potential exposure and / or liability with applicable compensation and / or HR related laws, regulations, or policies.
- Provide preliminary recommendations for appropriate action to the Compensation Manager and AVP for compliance concerns.
- Pursue professional development opportunities related to HR and Compensation for further understanding on compliance compensation matters.

- Analyzing position descriptions for benchmarking and position mapping

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and one ( 1) year related work experience or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- CCP (Certified Compensation Professional)or other compensation certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Data Science, Human Resources, or other related field.
