Director of Safety
Edgerton Contractors, a construction, and excavation company that specializes in earthwork, underground utilities, and design assist projects, is looking for a Director of Safety to lead the development of its overall safety programs, processes, and people .
The ideal candidate embodies the company culture and mission and delivers results. In accordance with the company's vision and strategic plan, the Director of Safety will develop, implement, and lead the safety programs as well as other safety-related personnel for Edgerton.
This position reports directly to the President of the company. The Director of Safety may work in the Madison or Milwaukee office.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES :
- Adopt and continue the further development of Edgerton's safety culture
- Lead in the advancement of Edgerton's overall safety program, process, and people
- Develop and mentor safety staff
- Display leadership in a safety-minded culture that drives safe performance through the proactive approach to safety, where incidents are not acceptable norms
- Spearhead the awareness, education, and training curriculum for our employees as part of our overall safety program
- Analyze safety statistics and formulate action plans to mitigate further incidents from occurring
- Implement i mpactful communication and awareness training with operations and field staff to help mitigate incidents from occurring in ongoing and future work
- Be a p roblem solver in the field, relating to safety hazards and safety compliance
- Must be w illing to travel as needed to other Edgerton work locatio ns
- Other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or related fieldMinimum of 10 years ' experience in the field of safety working in a heavy civil construction environmentCHST, CRIS, SMS, or other related credentials are preferred
