The HT Group is currently assisting an established software entity in Central Austin in the search for an experienced Senior Revenue Accountant for an immediate, contract need.
The timeline will be roughly 3 months on an interim basis with potential to convert to a full-time opportunity for the right, long-term fit.
This would be a hybrid role with 2 days in-office / 3 remote.
This role will support all aspects of the revenue cycle within the organization. This position has specific responsibility in revenue-related processes within the organization, including day-to-day revenue recognition and accounting functions, performing monthly close processes, fulfilling interdepartmental reporting requests, maintaining an effective control environment as well as interfacing with the firm’s External Auditors.
The candidate must be a team player with a get it done attitude in a fast-moving and dynamic environment.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Manage the monthly revenue processes for certain product lines and accounts to ensure revenue is recognized at the appropriate time and management is informed of progress.
- Perform account reconciliations escalating any issues as necessary. Ensure a thorough understanding of the underlying processes and inputs.
- Process revenue adjustments (JEs) as needed ensuring all entries are complete, logical, and accurate.
- Be self-sufficient at obtaining data from our reporting tools and using this information to review assigned areas and provide analysis to business partners.
- Perform and monitor certain tasks within the ERP system to facilitate the monthly revenue processes.
- Perform certain SOX compliance activities on a quarterly basis.
- Respond to manager inquires and data requests.
- Assist with compliance with revenue recognition rules (ASC 606).
Qualifications / Requirements :
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA license preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in revenue accounting within a software or technology services setting required.
- Previous Oracle or NetSuite ERP system experience preferred.
- Strong communication, partnering, and analysis skills required.
