Location : Metro Atlanta (3 Days Onsite Required)

Duration : 6 Month Contract + Likely Extensions

Location : Remote (Must live on East Coast and be able to work 8am - 5pm EST)

Overview :

GSquared Group is currently partnered with one of our key strategic clients, a leading industrial supply distributor, to identify an experienced talented Lead Snowflake dbt Developer to join our team and take charge of building and optimizing data models to support our reporting and analytics initiatives.

Job Description :

As a Lead Snowflake dbt Developer, you will play a crucial role in transforming raw data into actionable insights. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize dbt models that will support various reporting needs and data exports.

Your expertise in Snowflake and dbt will help us harness the full potential of our data.

Key Responsibilities :

• Model Development : Design and develop dbt models from a raw cost schema currently housed in Snowflake, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
• Reporting Views : Create model views and tables optimized for reporting, enabling business stakeholders to derive insights efficiently.
• Data Export : Develop views and transformations for seamless data export to other systems, ensuring compatibility and data quality.
• Collaboration : Work closely with data analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet organizational needs.
• Documentation : Maintain comprehensive documentation of all models, transformations, and data flows to ensure transparency and knowledge sharing.
• Performance Optimization : Identify and implement best practices for optimizing dbt models and queries for performance and scalability.
• Mentorship : Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers and team members in best practices for dbt and Snowflake.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a dbt Developer, with a strong focus on Snowflake.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with data modeling techniques.
• Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset.
• Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Experience in performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Prior experience in a lead or senior role within a data engineering or analytics team.
• Knowledge of cloud-based data solutions and data governance best practices.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI / CD practices in data projects.
