Buyer
Our Client, an Automotive Manufacturing company, is looking for a Buyer for their Grand Blanc, MI location. Responsibilities : Assist the buyer in purchasing productive and non-productive materials and servicesWork independently with decisions made based on established policies and procedures.
Supervision available to handle unusual situations.Maintains records of prices and terms negotiated with suppliersMaintains listing of reliable suppliersResponds to internal inquiries about vendors, price and availability of materials and tools, works to process Sales and CCA parts ordersConfirms purchase orders to suppliers, collaborates with suppliers, customers, and plant floor on material / part issuesChecks invoicesFollows up on negotiated settlements regarding rejected or defective materialsAdvises supervision of unusual or questionable circumstances regarding source and availability of partsAdheres to unit and corporate purchasing policies and proceduresFrequent contact with others outside the work groupWork on parts not placed list for Buyer or Senior Buyer Requirements : Knowledge in Job Boss, ERAPA, SAP, EMS, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint Intermediate levelKnowledge with Outlook or other email communication tool Intermediate levelGood interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally and cross-culturallyGood written and oral communication skills necessary for meetings and presentationsAbility to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skillsPartners with senior management to analyze and solve issuesAbility to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrentlyAbility to read blueprints and to understand basic engineering documentsKnowledge of commodities, materials and products being purchasedPosition related experience 5+ yearsRelevant auto industry experience required - Intermediate levelAreas of expertise include : Purchasing, specifically Racing / Performance related vendorsWorkplace Description : Automotive performance facility that includes prototype machining, internal combustion engine and electric motor building, battery manufacturing, engine and motor testing, engineering, and design services.
Working with the DRE’s for sourcing materials, working with material project planner, new development / product stuff, keep production work going, good variety a lot of different pieces of company’s working with CCA group, engineering research and development procure materials for whatever project / production they have going onRequired Education / Training / Certifications / LicensesBachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field or at least 5 years’ experiencePosition related experience : 5+ yearsExperience with company’s systems if possible (SAP, Arriba) or production purchasing experience (MGOA MGOC)Consistency, not job hoppy on resumeSomeone who is open minded, has organizational skills Why Should You Apply?
