Compensation range : $100-$115k

PURPOSE

The General Manager oversees and manages all aspects of the company’s signature dining establishment, ensuring its smooth and successful operation.

In an elevated dining setting, the General Manager plays a crucial role in creating a world-class dining experience for guests while also maintaining the financial health of the business.

This position must lead the team in a manner that maintains company standards for all facets of the operation including leading the management team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Oversight :

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of various departments to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintain and enforce high standards of service, cleanliness, and presentation.
  • Ensure standard operating procedures are being exceeded to enhance efficiency.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all food and beverage menu items including flavor profiles, pricing, and allergen information.
  • Ensure Reservation Systems are properly set up and running at all times.
  • Validate that all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition.

Guest Experience :

  • Ensure an exceptional dining experience for guests by maintaining impeccable service standards.
  • Address guest concerns or complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Monitor and enhance the overall ambiance and atmosphere of the restaurant.
  • Validate private events, catering, and banquets are coordinated seamlessly with a focus on driving top-line revenue while keeping costs manageable, and ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Develop and manage budgets, financial forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Monitor and control costs while maximizing revenue and the venue’s P&L.
  • Implement strategies to achieve financial goals.
  • Complete or verify completion of nightly logs and daily / weekly manager reports, deliverables, and receivables.
  • Manage labor dollars, controlling overtime and labor % according to budget.
  • Ensure Petty Cash procedures & logs are accurate & maintained.

Staff Management :

  • Lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing management and field-level team.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise leadership and hourly staff to deliver outstanding service.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment of trust and mutual respect.
  • Point of contact for Human Resource related issues for staff and management.

Vendor and Inventory Management

  • Evaluate outside partner, contractor, and vendor relationships on a frequent basis and partner with applicable departments for necessary changes.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock and cost control.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms.

Marketing and Promotions :

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create and implement promotional activities.
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
  • Utilize social media and other channels to promote the restaurant.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction on all levels, including social media platforms and ensure positive and proper response and resolution to concerns / complaints.

Compliance and Regulations :

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, liquor laws, sanitation regulations, and wage & hour labor laws.
  • Stay informed about relevant industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
  • Uphold licensing requirements and maintain a thorough understanding of local laws.
  • Possess complete understanding of the employee handbook, adhere to the regulations contained within it, and validate consistency across all levels.
  • Assist and / or complete additional tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Analytical skills; to monitor sales data, analyzing financial reports, and making data-driven suggestions.
  • Business Acumen; Understanding of the business side of the food and beverage program, including profit margins and inventory management.
  • Strategic thinking to contribute to the overall success of the establishment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with senior leadership, staff, and guests.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • 7 years’ experience in a supervisory position, in a high-volume fine dining full-service restaurant.
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean motor vehicle driving record.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • 21+ years of age.
