Position Overview :
- Graduate level nursing students must be enrolled in a Master's level NP program through an accredited college / university.
- The college or university must have an agreement with Canopy Children's Solutions that outlines the student's learning experience as well as the roles and responsibilities of both the college / university and Canopy.
- The chief objective of the graduate clinical internship is to provide the student with an opportunity to engage actively in actual professional tasks, which reinforces classroom learning in preparation for professional practice.
- The field experience provides students the opportunity to integrate knowledge, values, skills and cognitive / affective processes, and the mastery of behavioral health work competencies.
Internship Program Requirements :
All interns are required to attend a mandatory 40 hours of New Employee Orientation before working in a designated program or department.
Orientation hours may count towards the total required program hours.
Required Qualifications :
- Current students actively pursuing a Graduate Level Nurse Practitioner degree.
- Students must satisfactorily complete goals as outlined by university affiliates and their assigned site supervisor.
- Interns must be at least 18 years of age and in good standing with their educational institution.
- Students must possess excellent oral and written presentation skills, maturity, self-motivation, and be comfortable working with families with diverse needs.
- Students must be able to integrate into our vibrantly inclusive and passionate team.
