This is a full-time Senior Research Scientist, CKD role that is an on-site position located in Watertown, MA.

Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :
- Conduct research in CKD and provide leadership and innovation by acting as a subject matter expert on kidney diseases.
- Design and conduct in vivo studies to evaluate efficacy, biomarker identification and analysis, and PK / PD relationship.
- Design and execute assays for screening of drug candidates (cell-based biochemistry readouts) to identify the mechanism of action of antibodies.
- Record, analyze, and present scientific data to project teams with clear interpretation of results and propose next steps.
Qualifications :
- Excellent scientific writing and communication skills, as well as strong collaboration and leadership abilities.
- The ideal candidate must possess scientific details and understanding of the pathophysiology of chronic kidney disease.
- Ph.D. in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry or related life sciences areas with 2-5 years’ industry (Pharma / Biotech) experience or MS in molecular or cell biology with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with angiogenesis will be an advantage.
- Experience with mouse handling / monitoring, dosing, and tissue / blood collection.
- Experience working with antibody-based therapeutics.
- Experience with cell biology and biochemistry techniques, including culture of stable cell lines and primary cells, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, qPCR, ELISA, chemiluminescence immunoassay (MSD), IHC, IF, reporter assays, transfection, and flow cytometry (including FlowJo).
- Strong attention to detail and thorough organizational skills.
- Ability to manage and supervise junior scientists to meet project timelines and teach direct reports assay and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to multi-task efficiently, prioritize, and bring projects to conclusion.
- Ability to work independently in a laboratory setting and collaboratively in a dynamic team setting with strong interpersonal skills.
- Having willingness and energy to step into new adventures and dare to break new grounds outside of their comfort zone.
- Experience in drug discovery research is a plus.
