Summary / Objective :
The Houston Astros is looking for an in-game host with a fun, outgoing personality to be an engaging and entertaining part of the 2022 Houston Astros Spring Training season.
This position will be the host throughout the Spring Training Season.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities :
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Serve as a live, in-stadium host at Houston Astros home games.
- Ability to display confidence on camera, as well as conduct fan interviews and execute promotional elements with guests.
- Creative with the ability to contribute to the in-game entertainment atmosphere by generating ideas for features.
- Able to seamlessly connect relevant baseball information during the in-game production as related to Houston Astros baseball.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years experience hosting live sporting events.
- Demo Reel showing your previous hosting engagements.
- An outgoing personality, great voice and above average presentation skills.
- Exceptional writing and communication skills are required.
- Ability to perform well and maintain professional composure, appearance and demeanor always, while under a wide range of stressors or circumstances.
- Ability to work all Astros Spring Training home games.
- Experienced at finding new ways to deliver a feature.
- Ability to build, maintain and grow your audience through personality, hosting style and overall presentation.
- Fundamental knowledge of the Houston Astros, Major League Baseball and community.
- Ability to work a varied schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays as required.
Work Environment
Position will work in an office and stadium environment. The noise level is usually moderate but can be loud within the stadium environment.
Must be able to work in all types of outdoor weather conditions and within a stadium environment.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear.
The vision requirement includes close vision and ability to adjust focus. Nature of position requires physical mobility and the ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time / seasonal position. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including; extended hours, evenings, weekends and holidays.
