Position Information Position Title Business Adjunct Faculty FLSA Exempt FT / PT Part Time Hours Per Week Varies : 3 to 6 Hours Work Schedule Dependent on Teaching Modality Position Salary Range See Adjunct Faculty Pay Rates Work Performed

• Plan, organize, and teach curriculum content in alignment with course objectives.
• Use applicable technology and pedagogical principles, teach course content via assigned delivery format (face-to-face, hybrid, online, and remote instruction).
• Complete required institutional trainings and professional development.
• Follow department and division requirements for preparing a course syllabus.
• Plan and deliver appropriate instructional activities that promote student engagement and learning.
• Evaluate student performance using assessment tools as directed by the department. Follow grading guidelines as established by department.
• Inform students in a timely manner of their progress. Maintain an up-to-date electronic grade book and enter final grades by the established due date.
• Comply with attendance and grading requirements as established for the course.
• Participate in departmental evaluation and course assessment processes as needed.
• Maintain regular communication with students, including timely replies to student emails. Use the assigned HCC email and / or CANVAS LMS communication for all department and student communications.
• Keep up-to-date with current business topics.

Minimum Education Required Other Knowledge Required

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field is required.
• Business experience required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Prior teaching experience preferred.
• Commitment to teaching excellence and commitment to community college philosophy and mission.
• Interested candidates must be available to teach day, evening and / or online. Flexibility to teach during day is preferred.
