Position Summary :

Looking for a job where you can gain hands-on experience working with kids. Work in CRA’s mid-day supervision program. We are looking for enthusiastic adaptable individuals with a passion for working with school age children (K-8th grade) in an engaging setting.

Education / Training / Required Certification :

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 1-year experience working with school-aged children.
• 12 College Units of Child Development, Education, Recreation, Physical Education, or Human Services preferred.
• Must pass fingerprint clearance, TB test, pre-employment physical, and provide immunization record of measles and pertussis vaccines.
• Must complete CPR, First Aid, Mandated Reporter, and Pest Management training upon hired.

Essential Functions :

• Supervise children to ensure a safe and harmonious environment during the after school day and school playtimes.
• Ensure children follow playground safety rules and expectations and apply school site discipline policies.
• Help to guide pupils in developing good habits of sportsmanship, respect, inclusion, healthy play, and community.
• Implement positive behavior strategies and group management with respect for children and assist students in resolving minor conflicts on the playground.
• Report observations and incidents (e.g. discipline, accidents, inappropriate social behavior, etc.) to the Program Director.
• Participate in cleaning and maintaining the facilities and equipment.
• Inspect the school site and the equipment for potential safety hazards; taking corrective action to prevent injuries.
• Interact professionally and appropriately with children, parents, teachers, school staff, community members, and co-workers.
• Assist in maintaining student records of injuries, and behavioral incidents.
• Comply with all Health, Safety, and CA Community Care Licensing guidelines and requirements.
• Perform related tasks as required.

Part-Time - 20-25 hours a week for CRA Recess Supervision Program : (9 : 00am-2 : 00pm : M / T / Th / F) & (9 : 00am-11 : 15am : W)

Work Year Calendar : 10.5 month (August 2024 - June 2025)
