Job Description
The Registered Occupational Therapist will provide diagnostic evaluations and treatment to assigned clients, and help clients reach maximum performance level and to use skills learned to the fullest.
Responsibilities :
- Provide OT services to clients aged 2-8 years old
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clients' goals and needs
- Help patients improve their ability to perform daily activities and tasks
- Provide consultation to center staff in the areas of perceptual motor, fine motor, gross motor, balance, motor sequencing, and performance problems
- Maintain timely and accurate client records and reports to ensure client progress
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate client care
- Educate families on strategies for managing conditions and maximizing independence
Skills :
- Enthusiastic personality that will engage children
- Strong client service skills, with the ability to provide compassionate and empathetic care
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with BCBAs, BTs, parents, and clients in a positive and constructive way.
- Experience working with pediatric clients is highly preferred
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with adults and children
- Ability to plan, manage, and evaluate curriculum
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as required for recordkeeping and documentation
- Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation requirements
Physical Requirements :
- Prolonged periods of standing and sitting throughout the home and / or classroom
- Must be able to lift to 45 pounds at a time
- Must be able to sit and stand on the floor throughout the day, and bend, kneel, or squat to be at eye level with clients
