Job Description
Location : Rochester, MI or Grand Rapids, MI (On-site)
This position is with the premier surveying firm in the State of Michigan.
Responsibilities
- Operation, proficiency, and calibration of survey equipment
- Ability to demonstrate accuracy, quality, and thoroughness
- Meet budget and productivity standards
- The operation, maintaining, and organizing of trucks
- Safety awareness
- Be prepared for work everyday
- Generate suggestions for improving workflow / cost savings
Work Environment / Physical Demands
- Work outdoors
- Work overtime hours when needed and travel if the project requires it.
- Take direction well and communicate effectively.
- Stand and walk frequently; lift and carry equipment; use hands to handle tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel or crouch
Requirements
YOU MUST BE AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN THE U.S. WITHOUT SPONSORSHIP NOW AND IN THE FUTURE.
- 3 years of survey or related experience
- 1 year of experience as a crew chief preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate
- High school diploma or GED
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work with others
- Ability to motivate survey staff within a team environment
- Exhibit sound and accurate judgment
- Ability to understand / read / interpret construction plans
- Ability to learn, use, and teach the technology
- Must have a valid driver license and clean driving record
- Stable work history
- Ability to travel when needed
- Experience in the private and municipal sectors preferred
