AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Division Manager - Aviation (West Region) to join our Denver, CO office.

In this Division Manager role, you will manage project execution, client relations, and business growth for AtkinsRéalis' aviation business within the West Region.

You will provide leadership, direction and guidance to managers and staff within area of responsibility. You will be responsible for achieving business growth, quality, client satisfaction, and project profitability goals and objectives.

How will you contribute to the team?

  • Possess a background in winning and serving clients on major projects, a sound technical background, excellent communication and organizational skills and thorough knowledge and understanding of aviation clients across the west region.
  • Participate in strategic planning for aviation to maximize profitability, marketing capabilities, operational efficiencies, and quality.
  • Leverage existing and develop new aviation client relationships to identify and pursue business opportunities.
  • Help support other offices within the US to fulfil current project needs while planning the future of our aviation business in the west region.
  • Assist managers in developing project work plans; participates in reviews of schedules, budgets, project milestone dates and work products.
  • Work closely with our technical team leadership to ensure project staffing needs are met.
  • Review financial performance of projects being produced and / or managed within the area of responsibility; assists managers in proactively identifying potential problem projects to ensure remedial actions are promptly taken to avoid financial losses and client dissatisfaction.
  • Monitor and enforces compliance with established quality control standards, ensuring that appropriate quality assurance activities are being performed throughout the area of responsibility.
  • Review project QC plans and periodic QA compliance audits on current or recently completed projects.
  • Participate in the development of the annual and strategic plans for the area of responsibility and implements accordingly.
  • Actively pursue new project opportunities for the area of responsibility and the firm by maintaining contacts with current and prospective clients;

participates in the evaluation of new project opportunities for the area of responsibility.

  • Identify and work toward the resolution of client relations problems.
  • Maintain visibility and professional currency by participating in civic and professional organizations and encourages staff to do the same.
  • Conduct contract negotiations with clients and subconsultants.
  • Monitor project performance to ensure project profitability. Monitors accounts receivable and client billings.
  • Assist sector, and business unit management in identifying staffing needs based on future workload and manpower projections;

allowing the business unit management to plan and to coordinate as needed with the technical team.

Review manager recommendations to recruit, hire, transfer or terminate staff and manager recommendations for salary offers for new hire candidates as well as salary and position adjustment actions for staff and approves / disapproves recommendations and submits for further approval as specified in the Authorization Matrix.

Recommends personnel actions for direct reports.

  • Conduct semi-annual performance reviews and annual career planning sessions with direct reports.
  • Provides staff with ongoing performance feedback and counsel to promote improved performance and career development.
  • Help staff identify and pursue technical and professional development activities consistent with their career development goals and business objectives / needs.
  • Advise staff concerning company policies and procedures; monitors and enforces compliance.

What will you contribute?

  • B.S or M.S. degree in engineering.
  • 15-20 years of experience in the aviation market.
  • Experience leading transportation design projects for aviation clients across the west region (CA, CO, WA, OR, NV, AZ).
  • PE License in Home State
  • Preferred candidate will have other state PE licenses across the West Region.
  • Existing aviation client relationships
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, public speaking, and persuasive ability.
  • Very strong financial management, team management, and leadership skills.

Expected compensation range is between $155,000 - $270,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.

Upon acceptance of an offer, all candidates must go through a drug screen test and background check. AtkinsRéalis is a federal contractor which mandates a satisfactory background screening report and drug test that supersedes state laws.
