As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a skilled Avionics Technician to join our dynamic team in Jacksonville, NC.
Position Responsibilities :
- Performs aircraft maintenance to include inspection, operational test, repair, and modification of aircraft electrical / avionics systems.
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance / technical manuals and publications, and special tools and test equipment.
- Must be familiar with operational capabilities and limitations of electrical / avionics systems.
- Performs the troubleshooting and rewiring of complex avionics / electrical systems and subsystems discrepancies and modifications.
- Uses blueprints, schematics, technical drawings and manufacturers’ drawings and sketches in the performance of assigned duties.
- May be required to perform Maintenance Operational Checks (MOCs)
- Completes maintenance documentation accurately using OOMA, and required forms, as required by job assignment.
Position Requirements :
- Three (3) years aviation avionics experience
- One (1) year in a primary MOS from the following OccFlds : 632X Avionics, equivalent skill designation from other services or have completed and been certified through an aviation electronics school.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certification / FCC license is a plus.
- Must be able to meet any Government / Company licensing / qualification requirements for the position.
- High school diploma or equivalent-General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
- U.S Citizen and must pass a background check and be able to obtain and maintain a Common access card.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
- Must be able to pass drug test and fit for work physical as required.
- Must show proficiency in the use of OOMA within 60 days after assignment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
Physical Requirements :
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
- Must be able to pass fit for work physical and / or drug test as required.
- Must be able to work in areas that require awkward posturing, bending, kneeling, squatting, to include working overhead.
- Must be able to work at height in the hangar and on the flightline.
- Must be able to man and perform Flightline Extinguisher duties.
- If required must be able to pass a DOT physical and operate Powered Industrial Trucks.
- If required must be able to pass a respiratory physical and wear a respirator for 2 - 4 hours.
- If required must be able to perform confined space activities.
- Travel may be required.
