Purpose of Position

The Lead Business Analyst - Finance will define and perform complex process, systems analysis, design, and implementation.

• Lead process, systems implementation, and reengineering efforts to ensure highest quality of processes, information, organizational change, and services to internal and external customers.
• Provide user support through problem resolution, system modification, maintenance, training, and procedure development.
• Identify, implement, and maintain system controls to ensure system and servicing data integrity, and will serve as division liaison for inter-departmental process and systems development.
• Ensure maximum access to and implementation of technology services and resources within the University of Texas System and the Office of Shared Information Services.

Essential Functions

• Manage and Support PeopleSoft environments including configuration, upgrades, patches, and implementation of new functionality.
• Analyze and model the business domain to create a complete picture of workflows and technical requirements fulfilled by existing and proposed software.
• Define the business problem and primary objectives of new projects.
• Identify and validate the key business requirements.
• Evaluate potential software solutions, including delivered components with PeopleSoft applications, and the system architecture to ensure that they meet business requirements.
• Create functional requirements in use cases.
• Coordinate requirements walkthrough and signoffs, verifying with user representatives and stakeholders that use cases and process models accurately portray specific business needs.
• Contribute to project plans and develop plans including resource allocation.
• Will serve as lead of team administrative functions. Will supervise team time management, assign and oversee the teams daily production tasks, and conduct team performance reviews.
• 10% Travel;
• Frequency- Quarterly to one of the following cities in Texas : Midland, El Paso, San Antonio, Austin, Tyler, Edinburg.
• Nature of the Travel : Business process review and / or campus training.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
• Five (5) years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, IT Analyst, or Computer Systems Analyst.

Preferred Qualifications

The five (5) years of experience must have included experience in software development life cycle, gathering business requirements, design or modification of IT system to align to business needs, issue resolution, and support of any type of enterprise resource planning system.

Additional Information

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to a minimum of 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
