Background of the project

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Miami has been operating since 1960 in response to the Cuban revolution. Over the decades, IRC Miami has served refugees, asylees, survivors of trafficking, unaccompanied children, and their families.

IRC Miami focuses on supporting survivors, immigrant youth and other vulnerable populations. We assist survivors in reaching self-sufficiency and lead a coordinated regional response to human trafficking.

The IRC in Miami provides a range of services to survivors of human trafficking such as case management, economic empowerment, immigration assistance and more.

The IRC in Miami is committed to providing survivor centered and trauma informed services to survivors of human trafficking, centering empowerment, and choice in service provision.

Centering those with lived experience to inform our policies and services allows the program to better serve clients and more survivor led.

IRC seeks to contract with up to 2 individuals from diverse backgrounds to reflect the myriad of needs and experiences of survivors.

Scope of work

Consultants will assist with reviewing and providing feedback on materials (e.g. intake forms, training materials, policies, and procedures), Conduct bi-weekly office hours for caseworkers to discuss challenges and improve service delivery, review client survey language, and provide input on feedback received and assist with brainstorming and implementation of outreach strategies and other duties as assigned.

Consultants work an average of 60 hours a year.

Deliverables :

  • Consultant will engage in quarterly consultations to provide program feedback on program effectiveness, trends seen during reporting, task force documents, outreach strategies, client survey information.
  • Consultant will conduct monthly office hours and discuss challenges with caseworkers to address caseworkers' challenges and enhance service provision.
  • Develop a plan for improving outreach to survivors of labor trafficking by the second quarter and assist caseworkers with plan implementation, incorporating feedback from stakeholders.
  • Review client survey language and ensure it is survivor centered and accessible. Consultant will provide a document with suggested changes, incorporating feedback from stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications :

Requirements :

  • Working proficiency in written and verbal English, Bilingual ability in English and Spanish preferred
  • Access to Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Reader
  • Reliable internet connectivity capable of joining virtual meetings.
