Position description
The Translational Otolaryngology Neuroscience Laboratory at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar.
This appointment will be under the supervision of Ashley E. Kita, M.D., Assistant Professor in the Department of Head & Neck Surgery.
Applicants must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Biology, Neuroscience, Physiological Sciences, Bioengineering or a similar field.
Candidates are expected to have experience with small animal surgical procedures, synthesis of microparticle therapeutic, and rat ultrasonography.
Prior animal work is required. Experience with immunohistochemistry is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, independent, and have an interest in functional nerve recovery, laryngology, bioengineering, and neuroscience.
The candidate is expected to work closely with the PI and collaborators on research projects. The candidate is also expected to mentor student trainees, gather and analyze data, prepare presentations, write manuscripts, and write and prepare grant applications.
Salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
